Bushfire Recovery Package for Wildlife and their Habitat

The Australian Government’s initial $50 million Wildlife and Habitat Recovery package is providing targeted, on-ground support for fire-affected wildlife following the devastating 2019-20 summer bushfires.

Funding is helping with the immediate survival of affected animals, plants and ecological communities.

Action includes creating safe havens for species who survived the fires, establishing insurance populations, ramping up feral animal management and controlling weeds.
